This impressive Baroque building is breathtaking from its depiction of a paradigm stemming from the 18th Century. Here we are confronted with the myths and apparent contradictions embedded in a society reflecting moral and immoral behaviour. Of course, what is moral and immoral is in the eye of the beholder.
One is taken aback but then one asks if this explains the astonishing cultural trends in those times as expressed by Schubert, Haydn, Strauß, and of course Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The Lower Belvedere houses exhibitions and the ambiance of architectural design simply enrich the mind.
My recommendation is to visit and absorb the sheer artistic talent and form your own impressions.
