The Belvedere is an impressive location to experience Austrian art history in arguably the most significant building for modern Austria. Here, in the Belvedere on 15 May 1955, the Austrian State Treaty was signed allowing Austria to be an independent state following the many years of conflict and occupation by the Allies following World War 2.
